Endowment Fund and Planned Giving

As part of the 2010 Share the Vision! Be the Life! Mission and Ministry Campaign the congregation was asked to consider “Planned Giving” as a portion of our stewardship conversations and deliberations.  We were each provided information about using non-cash gifts, trusts, bequests by will, life insurance, appreciated assets and various forms of investments to make current or future donations.

The Congregation Council has appointed an Endowment Fund Committee to explore Endowment Funds as a vehicle which might be of interest to members who would like to establish a permanent fund from which income is used to fund a specified ministry, or a semi-permanent fund which distributes income plus some principal to a specified ministry.  In years past, Saint Andrew’s members established a small endowment (between $5,000 and 10,000) to fund outreach.  This is our starting point.  We hope to see the Endowment provide an effective tool to manage gifts and memorials which will fund opportunities for ministry far into the future.

If you would like more information on how endowment funds are used, or how you can contribute, please contact any member of the Endowment Fund Committee: John Clearman, Marc Bateman, Judy Gowdy, and Dan Johnson. You can contact through the church office.
