Saint Andrew’s Calendar

Devotional Word…..

“…I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all of you, because of the sharing in the gospel from the first day until now.”  Philippians 1:3 NRSV

We call them a Ministry Team. Those who serve in support of the mission and ministries of our congregation. In every way, they exemplify the best in the sharing of their gifts to uphold and maintain the unity of the congregation. As we shift liturgical seasons, from Epiphany to Lent, I want to recognize them---

The Reverend Timothy T. Weber, Shared-Time Pastor
Emily Harrow, Director of Discipleship Ministries
Dr. Will Simpson, Director of Music Ministries
Sherry Grindeland, Fellowship Coordinator
Russ Stark, Accounting Assistant
Kurt Lutterman, Facilities Manager
Mary Mills, Office Administrator
Susan Hegedus, Communications Specialist
Bryant Wilkie, Handbell Choir Director
Erin Simpson, Children’s Choir Director
Elaine Koga, Choir Accompanist
M.J. Rowe, Sound Booth
Michael Haynes, Facilities Set-up
Adam Harrow, Bryant Wilkie, Kitchen Team
Stella Nieman, R.N., Beverley Watt, R.N., Karen Grams, R.N., Parish Nurses
The Emmaus Trio: Karin Islip, Lauren Root, Dr. Will Simpson, Artists-in-Residence
Louise Tollefson, Memorial Fund Secretary

Imagine how generous God is in providing this team that works without a sense of anything but for “ministry” and mutual support along the way.

I invite you to find a way to thank each of them personally in the days ahead. They are a model of what some call “Church Staff.” In fact, together we have all served this congregation for 126 years.

We give thanks to God for each of them.

Pastor McEachran

Earthquake Drill

An alarm will sound a beeping tone to simulate the earthquake for our drill.
What should you do in an actual earthquake (and the drill)? The best practice is to:
DROP – get low to the ground,
COVER – get under a table, desk, or sturdy piece of furniture that can protect you from falling items, cover your head and neck with your arms, and
HOLD – hold onto that piece of furniture so that you move with it.

Once the shaking has stopped (for our drill, once the alarm stops), evacuate the building to the bottom row of the parking lot.

·

God Squad Mission Trip Team, 12:15 pm, 319/Youth Room

February 11 is the final day to sign up to be a part of the Mission Trip Team.

·

Concert: Jazz Ensemble, 4:00 pm, 301/Fellowship Hall

Chase the winter blues away with a dose of jazz, America’s most original art form. We’ll explore some of the musical forms that gave birth to jazz, and demonstrate the continuing influences of musical styles from around the globe.
Our small Jazz Ensemble of Steve Reincke on saxophone/flute, Don Garberg on keyboards, Trevor Pelletier on bass, and Rob Parks on drums will have some fun with improvisation, and will give a peek at the musical roles and the wordless conversations that make jazz music happen. Mostly, we’ll just have fun making music. The concert is free; invite a friend!

Ash Wednesday
Wednesday, February 14
Worship with Holy Communion, 12:15 pm
and 7:00 pm
During the Time of Lent, we walk together as a community who trusts that God is about the work of love in sending Jesus into the world. As we walk together in this time of renewal, we are called to remember that in Jesus Christ all things are made new now and forever.
“What Wondrous Love...” is a theme that will carry us deeper in the life of discipleship. We will share days of worship and learning, fellowship and serving. We are those who carry on the good news that from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, we are the people of the Way. And Jesus said, “Follow me.” Download a printable Lent-Easter calendar.
