every part of our lives, change is vital. It is so in our human growth, our
professional development, and as we find focus on our faith in God through
years I have served this congregation, there have been amazing changes in
our world, our community, and in the depth of ministry we share in this
place. I recall little Bellevue when the Paccar Building was the height
limit and we were a suburb of Seattle. Look around you and see that change
most of you have heard, I will resign my position early in 2019. Moving
towards that time will be a period of continued emphasis on the basics of
our life together. That is to grow in faith, to serve in love, and to be
for one another in Christ along the way.
commend that you trust deeply your leadership; they are servants. I ask
your prayers for the unity of our congregation.
Keep the foundation where it belongs, in worship, in Bible study, and in prayer.
And remember that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and
forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NRSV)
with you and beside you with peace and joy in all ways.
