“My counsel for
you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been
given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply
rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around
the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the
subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into
thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6-7 The Message)
verse was key to the ministry of Meg Marcrander in her time as our Director
of Christian Education. Her constant prayer and focus was to ensure that
each of us were discipleFit and growing our relationship with Jesus Christ
and with one another.
8 years ago, Emily Harrow joined our Ministry Team as Director of Youth
Ministries. For the past 3 years, she has served as Director of
Discipleship Ministries building on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ and
a mission which ensures that the members of our faith community are engaged
in Bible Study.
on a strong foundation, she returns to be with her family in St. Louis. She
has carved a place in our hearts and lives and has touched the lives, not
only of our students, but each one of us who have shared her professional
growth and deepened calling as a teacher and mentor in the Faith.
the past two Sundays, we have shared the fruit of her faithful in sharing
Affirmation of Baptism and the recognition of our graduating high school
each service, those honored and blessed were literally surrounded at the
Altar for a time of prayer and sending to the next stages of their lives.
It was both a tear-filled and heart-full time to remember that we are all
united in Christ and called to be for each other along the way.
we move into the summer, we are following the leading of the Holy Spirit to
ensure that we will continue to hold close our calling to become witnesses
in love and life. Roots ever deeper into the promise that we are forgiven
and called to be Christ in the world.
send Emily, Adam, and Silas with Godspeed and confident that God will
provide all that need in times of change.
and pray; be involved and participate in the central life of our
congregation through worship and discipleship growth in Christ.

Emily Harrow’s Farewell Scroll
by the table in the Narthex to sign Emily Harrow’s farewell scroll. And
this time we want you to color outside the lines! Because Emily, the
Director of Discipleship Ministries, had us coloring posters for Lent and
for Advent, it is appropriate that we use those artistic talents to say
goodbye. Draw a picture of something you enjoyed, a trip you took with
Emily, helping with a fundraiser, participating in Sunday school classes or
adult discipleship hours, or just a fancy design. Add a written message to
the scroll for Emily, Adam and Silas too.
We also welcome contributions to the Harrows’ “New Life in Missouri” fund.
The gift and scroll will be presented at the ministry celebration at 10:45
am on Sunday, June 24.
