Help with Family Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt

On the Saturday morning before Easter Sunday, the Sheep and Shepherds have a Family Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt.
Fire Force youth participate in several ways:  they fill the plastic eggs with candy; hide the eggs for the hunt; help guide the Sheep and Shepherds during the hunt; and help with games during the celebration.

Fall

Retreat
Each fall we get away for a weekend to get to know each other better and to laugh, serve, and pray.

A Sunday in December

Gingerbread House Decorating Party
Each year, we join the congregation for this fun event! The entire family is invited for an afternoon of creative fun! We enjoy a potluck lunch and decorate gingerbread houses. This is a great event for grandparents to bring their grandchildren, and for mentors and mentees to do together! Look for more information in November.

A Sunday in December

White Elephant Gift Exchange and Christmas Party
Each year, we enjoy a White Elephant Gift Exchange to celebrate the Christmas season. We exchange tacky, silly, ridiculous gift items that ideally have cost $0!!
We also celebrate with a variety of fun and silly games.

Throughout the year

Service Events
In the past, we've served at Eastside Baby Corner, the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, Mountains to Sound Greenway, Northwest Harvest, participated in Earth Day events, and helped with mid-week Soup Suppers during Advent and Lent. Check back for new opportunities!

Summer Mission Trip
Youth in grades 6-8 have served the Yakama Nation through YouthWorks and have served in Idaho with Idaho Servant Adventures.

Who Are We?

Ask Fire Force kids why they come to hang out at church, and you get a bunch of different responses ranging from serious to silly: "God talks." "Games!" "It's better than homework!" "Special worship services." "Fun." "Food." "Music." "Running around." "Jesus, 'cause He rules!" "Squishy couches." "Friends." These are just some of the reasons we gather. If you were to come and hang out with us, you could end up in a serious conversation about heaven, play air hockey, stay up until 2:00 a.m. throwing socks at each other, watch a movie, serving soup at a Lenten soup supper, or all of the above!

Fabulous Fall Retreat
On a weekend each October, we go on retreat.  We spend time playing games, studying the Bible, eating, sitting by the campfire, enjoying tasty treats and just hanging out.  Check in September for a permission form, a what to bring list, drop-off and pick-up information, and more.

Bible Balance
We do our best to keep some sort of balance between Bible study and playing around, but often these two things are one in the same. We play all sorts of games that have a Bible emphasis, as well as games that don't. We also go to movies, explore Seattle, go out for ice cream, go bowling, and many other fun activities!
